I’m excited because this is my own release week and I get to share it was some pretty amazing writers! (If you haven’t had a chance to check out my book – T&A: Revelations Of A Romance Novel Heroine – you can do that here.)
First up – Lisa Renee Jones. In addition to being an incredible writer, Lisa is also an incredible person – so easy to talk to and just fun to be around! Her latest is Surrender. Here’s your blurb:
Passion burns fiercely hot between Ella Ferguson and Kayden Wilkens, the man who held secrets and lies in his hands, and then allowed them to fall into hers. But even though he has become her anchor–helping her recover from amnesia after finding her unconscious in an alley, and allowing her into his secret world–all is not what it seems. Kayden still has secrets, and pieces of Ella’s past are still shrouded in the darkness of her mind, while the powerful man who hunts her will not stop until she is his. In this final, explosive novel in the Careless Whispers series, Ella discovers that while her life with Kayden didn’t begin in that dark alley…it could easily end there.
We fell in love during the campaign.
The stakes were high.
Reputations could have been ruined.
Scandal hovered over us like a cloud.
Now the man I love is the President of the United States of America.
And its not my vote he is after.
He wants it all.
My heart. My body. My soul.
He wants me by his side.
In the White House.
Normalcy will be gone from my life, privacy forgotten.
I am only twenty three. I just wanted to play a part in history. But it seems like history wasn’t done with me. The part where I lost my heart to Matthew Hamilton? It was only the beginning…
You can buy Commander in Chief here.
I’ve been told I have quite a gift.
Hey, I don’t just mean in my pants. I’ve got a big brain too, and a huge heart of gold. And I like to use all my gifts to the fullest, the package included. Life is smooth sailing….
Until I find myself stuck between a rock and a sexy roommate, which makes for one very hard…place.
Because scoring an apartment in this city is harder than finding true love. So even if I have to shack up with my buddy’s smoking hot and incredibly amazing little sister, a man’s got to do what a man’s got to do.
I can resist Josie. I’m disciplined, I’m focused, and I keep my hands to myself, even in the mere five-hundred square feet we share. Until the one night she insists on sliding under the covers with me. It’ll help her sleep after what happened that day, she says.
Spoiler-neither one of us sleeps.
Did I mention she’s also one of my best friends? That she’s brilliant, beautiful and a total firecracker? Guess that makes her the full package too.
What’s a man stuck in a hard place to do?
You can buy Full Package here.
Sometimes you just see a cover and it draws you in – that’s how I was with Worth The Wait by Claudia Connor. There’s just something about that sexy smile that made me click and read the blurb and then I knew I had to have it. Here’s the blurb that sent my fingers to one-click!
He broke her heart. Now this FBI agent is down on his knees to win her back.
Nick Walker found his one and only when he was just nineteen.
It’s been ten years since Nick watched Mia walk out of his life. Ten years of pain and regret. Now this FBI special agent will do anything to win her back.
But it won’t be easy…
Mia’s heart was shattered by Nick. They’ll have to face their painful past if they want a future, including Mia’s own secret about that day it all fell apart.
You can get Worth the Wait here.

It’s probably no secret that I LOVE to read. Now that the rush of the holidays has passed and the days are colder and night stretches longer, I want nothing more than to snuggle under a blanket with a cup of warm tea and read. Each week I’m putting together a list of books I want to read, and thought it would be fun to share!
I’ll post a new round of Stay Inside and Read! books next week. Visit each week or subscribe to my blog in the sidebar to the right–>

First up – The Fixer by HelenKay Dimon. HelenKay is smart, funny and her writing style keeps me super engaged. Now I’m just going to take a moment to gush about that cover. There’s not a lot sexier than a man in a suit, and does this man WEAR A SUIT! The Fixer kicks off HelenKay’s new Games People Play series, and I can’t be more excited. Here’s your blurb:
He’s known only as Wren. A wealthy, dangerously secretive man, he specializes in making problems disappear. A professional fixer, Wren hides a dark past, but his privacy is shattered when Emery Finn seeks him out—and what she wants from him is very personal.
Some people disappear against their will. Emery’s job is to find them and bring closure. Wren is the only person who can help solve Emery’s own personal mystery: the long-ago disappearance of her cousin. Just tracking down the sexy, brooding Wren is difficult enough. Resisting her body’s response to him will prove completely impossible.
Anonymity is essential to Wren’s success, yet drawn by Emery’s loyalty and sensuality, he’s pulled out of the shadows. But her digging is getting noticed by the wrong people. And as the clues start to point to someone terrifyingly close, Wren will have to put his haunted past aside to protect the woman he loves.
You can find The Fixer on Amazon here.
Next up is a book I’ve been waiting for – K.M. Jackson’s Insert Groom Here an Unconventional Brides Romance. K.M. is a woman you just love to chat with on Facebook or Twitter – and check out her cover! I just love how fun it is! Publisher’s Weekly says Insert Groom Here is “A spirited combination of class and sass…” Here’s your blurb:
Eva Ward has won a lavish wedding on the nation’s hottest morning show and can’t wait to kick off her
happily-ever-after in style. Too bad her fiancé backs out on-air—and cameraman Aidan Walker makes sure her private meltdown goes viral, down to the last couch-kicking moment. The only way Eva can save face and keep her perfect nuptial plans on track is to star in a new “find-a-groom” reality segment. But finding Mr. Right in one month means ignoring her handsome new producer—none other than Aidan himself—and getting their instant, exasperating attraction out of her system…
Eva soon finds there’s a lot more to Aidan than freewheeling charm. But one glimpse of his caring side can’t make up for off-camera politics, Aidan’s own secrets—or Eva’s fear that they’re too different to ever trust each other. So it’s time for her to flip this script, write twists no one will see coming—and risk her heart to get the real thing…
You can find Insert Groom Here on Amazon here.
Although romance is my chosen genre, I do love a good non-fiction novel. There are two on sale (at the moment!).
In The Millionaire Mind, Thomas J. Stanley interviews numerous self-made millionaires to see how they became the success story they are now. Just in time for the goal-setting of the New Year! You can order The Millionaire Mind here.
And I can’t wait to read The Rise of the Rocket Girls! As a science and space geek myself, I’m so looking forward to reading Nathalia Holt’s book about the women who “launched America into space”. You can oder The Rise of the Rocket Girls here.

Hey – it’s Day Four of Five Days of Gena Showalter Torment!
Today is going to be short and sweet. This is our rescue dog, Zoey. Isn’t she adorable? I fell in love with her puppy picture (left). To the right is Zoey on her second birthday. (Yeah, the hat didn’t last too long.)
Gena named an animal in the Last Kiss Goodnight after Zoey.
Then Gena killed it.

I almost didn’t write today’s post.
Today is parent/teacher conferences, I had a ton of family obligations this week, so I’m not where I want to be in my work in progress… you know, the normal excuses. But I’d made a goal for myself at the beginning of the year. I’d blog once a week about writing, usually about motivation. I also knew that I’d kick myself if I didn’t meet my goal in March – not meeting goals should be something left for December 😉
All the time people tell me they want to write a book. I’ll ask them about it later, and they haven’t started, or wrote a few pages and then stopped, and the regret is there. Writing isn’t easy. There’s always something I could be doing like reading or binge watching some great TV show everyone around me is talking about, but then I’d regret the book I didn’t write.
This week, the wonderful Candace Havens shared her thoughts on writing.
There is so much truth and insight in her words. It’s interesting, that so many people have told me one of their favorite books of mine is SEALed and Delivered, and I wrote it at pretty crappy time in my life. So writing as therapy – Candace has something!!
I can’t imagine not having the creative outlet of my writing. So many of my friends have knitting or the adult coloring book craze. Of course there is also READING or gaming. Do something that gives you joy!
Candace’s books are as amazing as she is. Check out Her Sexy Marine Valentine out this month!!! She managed to get 3 of my favorite words in one title 🙂 Available on Amazon and Kindle and at eHarlequin. Coming in July is Make Mine a Marine
I love my writing space. It’s a desk and hutch where I’m surrounded by all my books and pictures. I’d share a photo, but it’s also covered with 3 notebooks, my taxes and tons of loose papers I can’t get rid of (have I mentioned my slight hoarding tendencies?).
Sometimes I use my desk as an excuse not to write – because I’m not at it. I had this great professor in college, Deborah Chester, who would tell us to get rid of our crutches. My desk was my crutch.
Once I got rid of that crutch, I could write anywhere. Gena Showalter and I plotted Dating the Undead while I sat in my car on top of a canyon (the only place I could get cell reception while chaperoning at a youth camp). I wrote Lord of Rage in a cafeteria and edited Naked Thrill stuck in a tornado shelter.
Lack of time is the biggest crutch most of us use for not getting words on the page, yet we can write anywhere. We’re not tied to a desk or our electronics – grab a notebook and write while you’re waiting for your kids to get out of school or practice. Write on the train to and from work. Write during lunch.
I’ve talked some about the inner editor in the Write Like A Champion post, and yeah, that IE is a jerk. But a useful jerk. Just not when you’re in the initial stage of getting the book on paper (or doc).
Your IE can challenge you to take risks and be at your most creative, but can also become like the toxic friend who you used to like hanging out with in small doses, but now the self critique has morphed into constant criticism.
In that first draft frenzy of getting ideas out of your head, lock the internal editor away. Some of my friends won’t even correct their spelling so they can keep moving forward. I usually will stop after the first chapter or so and examine my idea – will it sustain a full manuscript? Am I still interested in it? How much research will it require? I may let my IE out just to put her toe in the water, not a full dive. If I want to move forward, I write a loose synopsis, lock the IE away and get right back into frenzied first draft mode.
Once that the first draft is done, it’s time to face your IE like that one relative you try to avoid until it’s Thanksgiving – with cautious open arms.
